Emily Taylor is a graduate of OCAD U and currently resides and works in Toronto as a freelance illustrator. Although living in the concrete jungle has its advantages, there are days where she’d prefer to spend time wandering and sketching real forests rather than the green roof garden across the street. Major influences in her work include various flora and fauna (especially North American varieties), food (usually sweets), vintage clothing and pattern work (mostly drawing inspiration from the late 1940s to the early 1960s).
When she is not drawing (or dreaming up things to draw), Emily can be found picking up leaves and flowers and pressing them, avidly antique-hunting, attempting to work with clay, dabbling in jewellery making and photography. For her efforts in the latter, as well as shots of works in progress and scraps of daily life.
