Become an expert in 3-easy steps

In 3-easy steps, you can publish your profile and expertise to the community. Just
follow the steps below:

  1. Download the OnCall app for your iOS or Android device.
  2. Sign up and log in to the app with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or
    your email address.
  3. Go to your My Account > Expert Settings and turn on Become an
    Expert
    .

How becoming an expert works

Choose your area of expertise

With over 140 categories available, select one that relates to your expertise. It could be as broad as "translation services". You can be more specific when you add details to your service information.

Complete your expert profile

Describe your service offering with as much detail as possible to allow yourself to be discovered easily. Your entire profile is indexed, therefore describing your service with details such as your service area or rates is beneficial.

Manage your availability accordingly

If you are not going to be available to take calls or respond, do ensure that you change your status to "Unavailable". This lets users know whether or not to call you. Missed calls will affect your Activity Score, and too many of them will cause it to lower.

Look out for notifications

When you get a call or instant message, we send a notification to your device informing you that you have an incoming call or unopened message. Your device should continue to ring for up to a minute before the call is marked as missed

Jump on it (or not!)

You decide if you would like to answer a call or instant message. Questions on the Activity Stream go to multiple experts, so act fast if you can help. If you can't help, no worries, someone else most likely will.

Help via Video, Voice or Instant Message

Help your caller by showing them solutions visually over video, or guide them over voice only. If the needs are not urgent, perhaps a quick instant message is sufficient. Lots of options at your disposal.
